Altuglas International, makers of Plexiglas® acrylic sheet, introduced the latest innovation for rear projection screens today. This new acrylic sheet is available for many applications that utilize digital signage projections, including retail displays, museum exhibits, and home theaters.

According to Dr. Manuel Garcia-Leiner, a scientist at the company’s Polymer Technology Center in King of Prussia, PA, this latest advancement in rear projection screen technology is credited to the resourceful researchers at Altuglas International. “Plexiglas® acrylic sheet has been an innovative brand for 75 years, and we continue to embrace this tradition. The multi-layered structure we’ve created allows for an acrylic screen material that is easily fabricated or thermoformed, but remains lightweight and scratch-resistant.”

Garcia-Leiner continues, “Furthermore, this new material has the highest contrast ratio and the widest viewing angle of over 20 leading rear-projection screen materials that we’ve tested. Images projected onto this acrylic screen are still visible at angles approaching 180° without hot spots or dark corners.”
